Daniel Cammardella

One of the three who set out on the first Balance Odyssey in 2012, from the Rio Grande south.

Daniel drove Mexico with Kirk and Logan Scholfield. At El Potrero Chico he and Chaz Ott led Logan and Kirk up their first multi-pitch, well over 200 feet off the ground. In Cancún he spent 36 hours with officials getting Kirk out of jail. Then he and Logan put the bicycles on a bus to Chetumal and crossed to Belize, where Ray Marceau was waiting.

Much of the 2012 diary is his: the police stops, Cancún, the night in the jungle at Tikal, Semuc Champey, and El Retiro, where Logan and Ray taught the line. “By association I am assumed to know what I’m doing,” he wrote. “This is amusing, and it is wrong.”
